While on vacation in the tropical destination of Cancun, Mexico, why not achieve your PADI Open Water Scuba Diving Certification? After completing this certification, you will be qualified to scuba dive in open water with countless dive tour providers across the planet, allowing you to enjoy diving at a thrilling variety range of underwater locales. This course requires three to four days to complete three stages including classroom and book study, confined-water exercises, and four exciting open water dive trips.

The initial stage of your certification learning consists of studying the contents of PADI manuals and classroom instruction. You can purchase books ahead of time, so that you can familiarize yourself with the material before your vacation.

After learning all of the theory behind scuba diving, you will put that theory into practice in the confined-water environment of a pool or lagoon. While being supervised by a PADI-certified instructor, you will become familiarized with the breathing apparatus, mask, and flippers while maneuvering under water. After mastering the basics, you’ll be prepared for four different one-tank or two different two-tank dive trips. The second set of supervised open-water dives can take place off the coast of Cozumel Island. Round-trip transportation, ferry crossing, and a meal at La Mission restaurant are included.

The biodiversity in this area of the Caribbean is amazing. Divers may see species like jacks, rays, sponges, corals, sea anemones, snappers, dolphins, sergeant majors, parrot fish, angel fish, groupers, sharks, barracuda, morays, octopi and marine turtles.
